Brand History

Pith Products is established in Tolland, CT, to build custom toolboxes for one of the United States’ leading aerospace manufacturers. During its early years, Pith also served the military, music, sign, electronics, photography, and machining industries, as well as the general public – always providing high quality tool and equipment protection and storage solutions to fit specific customer applications.

Pith is acquired by Lance Bouchard and Lou Albert. Lance worked at a tool shop that purchased storage boxes from Pith and he and his partner Lou immediately recognized and regarded Pith’s commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. Together, they slowly built the business by developing customized tool storage solutions to meet specific customer requirements – adding new capabilities and materials to offerings.

Pith relocates its offices and manufacturing floor to a newly built state-of-the-art 26,000 square foot facility in Ashford, CT. This move helps Pith become more capable of efficiently designing, building, assembling and globally shipping custom tool storage solutions made from wood, plastic, foam and a range of other durable composite materials. As customers improve their manufacturing processes or begin new programs, Pith is able to respond with tool storage solutions that are specifically designed for that particular process or program.

Pith uses its decades of experience crafting 100% customized tool storage solutions for aerospace customers – OEMs, suppliers, tool vendors, and MRO facilities – to become an approved vendor for two of the largest and most innovative aerospace, defense, information security, and technology manufacturers in the United States. Pith develops custom products for these manufacturers to meet growing demand for lean manufacturing process standards and stricter FOD control policies stemming from tool accountability in the workplace.

Pith primarily designs and manufactures customized aerospace tool storage solutions that improve manufacturing efficiencies and reduce project costs for its customers by helping mitigate the risk of misplacing tools, leaving tools on the shop floor or in an engine component, and having duplicate tools in the production rotation. Pith’s custom tool cases, carts, crates, containers, and point of use stations are always built to fit – designed and manufactured in the U.S.A with top quality materials to house tools with absolute precision. 100% of Pith’s products are built-to-order in our 26,000 sq. ft. facility in Ashford, CT – a short drive from Hartford, CT, Boston, MA, and even NYC.
